The agency has a diverse list of services which results in a complex regulatory environment. That was a big reason to choose Anasazi. “We’re up to about 20 different regulatory agencies now,” Healy said. “Anasazi is great to meet all their needs and have one product across the board to handle all of them.” She added, “It’s a very dynamic program.”
Working with other private and government agencies since 1990, Central New York Services provides professional counseling, residential services and day-to-day support to individuals and families. Services include transitional housing, a single-room occupancy residence, outpatient treatment for dual diagnosis, financial management, forensic services, employment assistance, and a shelter plus care program.
Since the behavioral health industry evolves so rapidly, Healy wanted a vendor that could keep up. “Anasazi was always one step ahead of upcoming changes,” she said. “That was really important to us.”
Prior to Anasazi, Central New York Services was paper-based. Healy knew that it would be a challenge for her staff to move to a computer-based system, but still chose an aggressive timeline for implementation. She was happy to find that Anasazi was up to the challenge and had the expertise to do it right.
“Agencies should look for someone with a lot of experience,” she said, “especially on a state level.” Anasazi has 31 customers in New York alone, with 150 total customers in 28 states from coast to coast.
Healy has been active in the Anasazi Software National Alliance, our influential national user group. She also participates in biannual New York User Group meetings where Anasazi customers discuss state-specific issues.
When asked what she liked most about her choice, Healy said, “I like the fact that we have a say on what Anasazi changes on the product.”
